Pray for special May events
- May 3rd – 6th – Bob and Gayle – pray for many Romanians and Roma who will be attending a John Piper conference in Bucharest. Pray that this conference will be a blessing to many.
- May 13th – Happy American Mother’s Day
- May 18th – Bob and Gayle – there will be a one day meeting in the Braila area for Roma missionaries, pastors, and church leaders. This will be a day of leadership training and discussion. Pray for unity among the brethren, for God to speak clearly to the hearts of these men, and that their hearts and minds will be open to the awesome possibilities that God has for them.
- May 27th – Joe and Julie – Please give praise with us as we are invited to a baptism for 10 to 15 Roma on this day! One of the men that we have worked with has started a new church in a nearby village and he has many new believers. They will not be baptized in a Baptist church, but it is another Evangelical church that we have worked with in the past. Praise God for all that He has done and is continuing to do.
- May 30th – Boyd and Jennie – Give PRAISE for medical clearance from the doctors and Richmond staff. We will be departing on this day to return to Prague! Pray for our extended family and friends as we return. Pray for our children as they re-adjust to patterns and friends in Prague.
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (John 15:7)
Other requests for ongoing and new projects
Boyd and Jennie Hatchel
- Pray for us to have a renewed vision for the ministry in Prague
- Give praise for to the Lord for new partners in ministry – Romanian American Mission. Their expressed focus is now upon the Roma of Europe. Pray for Julian from Bacau, RO and Cristi from Braila, RO who will organize this effort.
Joe and Julie Silby
- We need a strong music program here in Brno, CZ, so please pray that musicians will come forward to play for their King.
- Pray for the new home Bible study groups that are meeting in Brno so that the Gospel will be shared with people who do not normally go to church.
- We need elders and we have a group of men that are coming along, but please remember H and M.T. as they continue to grow to be leaders in the Romany church in Brno.
- There are a number of women and men who go to our church who are married to unbelievers. Please join us in praying that their example and love will be significant in bringing their spouses into the Kingdom.
Randy and Dawn Nicholas
- Please pray for the Roma mission church here in Brno as they seek to serve the Lord in the community around them. We have all been facing challenges and seeing victories in the growth of the church. Continue to pray that the Lord will raise up new faithful leaders and that discipleship will be a priority in our midst.
- Please pray specifically for two of our Roma believer friends, H and E. This is an amazing story. Briefly, E is in need of a kidney transplant to save her life from chronic illness. H who is a brother in the Lord is not related but his health / blood situation makes him a match for the transplant and he has agreed to give her one of his kidneys. This is an amazing act of self sacrifice! Pray that as they go through the preparations for the upcoming surgery and the surgery itself, that all of the medical details will be as smooth as possible and they will both come out of it well and have long lives.
- Please pray for Dawn and I as we continue to wind down our term with IMB. At this point, we have less than 4 months to go and we desire to leave with a strong ministry record – Pray for our men’s ministry groups. Pray for the IMB website that I am working on. Pray for the details to be worked out for when we return to the states.
Jerry and Brenda Goss
Bob and Gayle Hill
- Pray for the Alpha Baptist Church who will come in May to work in Sighisoara and Ciuta, Romania. We will join them in Ciuta as the pastor of Alpha will lead a conference for the men and a lady form Alpha, along with Gayle, will lead the women’s conference.
- Pray for us as we travel to meet with the youth in several churches to discuss our summer mission program – FARM.
- Pray for Gayle as she returns to Istanbul for medical follow-up from her eye surgery which she had in December.
Daniel Byrd
- Please pray for D, a Roma pastor with whom I work. I am not sure all that is going on with him, but it has become difficult to work with him.
- Please pray for the 3 teams and 3 camps that I will be having this summer. Pray that I can continue to be focused on my ministry as well as take care of the logistics for the volunteers.
- Pray for my youth. They are struggling with their pastor. Pray that God will reveal to them what His plans are for them during this time.
- Pray for me as I am scheduling my STAS conferences and speaking engagements. Things are filling up and I do not want to offend anyone.
Cornel and Erica Tuns
- Pray for ongoing requests of teaching, training, and home Bible study, almost every Saturday and Sunday.
- Pray for us to grow in prayer, in taking initiative, and to have the energy for both of these.
- Our ministry in Ciorogarla is slow going without fellow Christians who live there actively partnering with us. Pray that some new contacts we have there would be burdened for their community and join us in ministry. Pray for the salvation of domnul V, D, I, and Bulibasha (the Roma leader) to name a few.
- As we minister to those who have a lot of financial needs, it can be challenging to know the best way to love people in these situations. Pray for us to have wisdom and grace during these times.
Tim Marza
- Pray for the T. Family who shows a real interest in Bible Study. Pray also that the father will see the benefit of his children to hear the Gospel.
- Pray for a deeper understanding of the Bible in Gypsy community. It seems that they think that what I tell them is another exercise that must be followed one time and then changed with something new.
- Pray for pastor G. who is interested in working with one camp in Rome.
Betty Easter
Karen Blackburn
- Pray for the Roma here in Skopje. The financial situation is becoming more difficult. Recently there was an article published stating that the unemployment rate among the Macedonian young people – those coming out of high school and college – is 50%. Among the Roma young people it is much higher.
- Pray for J. and J. We have worked with them for several years. Two years ago they said they became believers – we have had Bible studies with them. However, recently there has been an issue about the Trinity which J. could not understand. He finally admitted that he had “accepted God into his life 15 years ago (Muslim belief) but that he could not accept Jesus as Savior – that Jesus was not part of God but was created by God.” We have prayed with him, showed him Scriptures, given him illustrations, etc. Now we wait on God to reveal Himself to J. Pray for this to happen.
- Pray for S. and M. They are not believers though various members of our team have met with them and discussed Bible stories with them over the past 3-4 years. They recently left for Switzerland to try and live there. We know they have arrived there but know nothing else. Pray for their safety and particularly for all 3 of their children who have medical problems. Pray for S. to find work. Pray for them to have contact with Christians there and to come to know Jesus as their Savior.
- Pray for S. and S. They are believers – the wife stronger in her faith than the husband. The husband and son are currently in Italy with other family members. The wife, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren hope to go next week. Pray for safety with traveling and pray for work for the son. Pray that S. will be a light to the Roma there. Pray that she will share her faith.
- Give praise for N. and J. N. is a Roma pastor who lives here in Skopje. He is wanting to start a church (he previously had one but due to finances it has closed). He may be getting some help from another evangelical church in Macedonia. We have been able to help him with some children’s literature. Pray for God to bless this. He and his family live in the largest Roma settlement here in Skopje.
- Thank you for your prayers for me over the past few months. I do believe God is wanting me to make a change in my life regarding ministry and I have started the steps toward that. I hope by next month to be able to share with you the specifics. Please pray for me as I continue in this process.
Abbey Hammond
- Pray for wisdom as to what to teach in the women’s Bible study, especially with my time winding down
- Pray that I will make the most of every opportunity and use every conversation with home visits to point to Christ
Cameron and Jennifer Phillips
Cheryl Argabright
- Please pray for the Saturday morning girls club. The last few weeks there has been a disagreement between some of the girls – not sure what it is about but please pray that friendships will be restored between all the girls.
- Pray for good Bible study time with the girls each Saturday. We have boys who want to join us and I have said ok…..because we are meeting outside, it is hard to turn them away. I also want them to hear the Good News.
- Please pray for me as I travel to the states for a 2 week vacation this month. It will be first visit in almost 2 years. Please pray for good family time.
“rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer” (Romans 12:12)
